Bockenheim has had a new café since September 2024: “Butter” at Konrad-Broßwitz-Straße 1. Owner Sina Eichhorn has fulfilled a dream and enriched the district’s café scene with a charming meeting place with a special concept.

From career changer to café owner

Sina Eichhorn originally studied law, but her passion has always been baking and gastronomy. After a few years in another profession, she has now taken the plunge and started her own business with Butter. “I’ve wanted to open my own café for a long time and I’m happy that it worked out,” she says, beaming.

Regional products and homemade treats

Butter focuses on quality and regionality. Eichhorn works closely with local producers and start-ups to source high-quality ingredients and sustainable tableware. Its strengths are home-baked cakes, breads and savory snacks. For breakfast, they serve sourdough bread with homemade jam and whipped butter. At lunchtime, sandwiches such as the pea and mint sandwich are tempting. In the afternoon, guests can choose between various cakes such as the orange and olive oil cake or scones. In the evening, the menu includes cheese, olives and small snacks that go perfectly with an after-work drink.

A cozy atmosphere to make you feel good

Butter not only impresses with its menu, but also with its interior. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide plenty of light, a bright blue counter attracts attention and a butter-yellow wall creates a friendly atmosphere. “I wanted to create a place where guests feel comfortable and enjoy spending time,” explains Eichhorn.

Well attended right from the start

Although Butter only opened recently, it is already very popular. The café is well frequented during opening hours from Wednesday to Sunday. Many guests come regularly to have breakfast in a cozy atmosphere, drink coffee or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. “I’m overwhelmed by the positive feedback,” says Eichhorn happily.

Butter is an enrichment for Bockenheim and shows that quality, regionality and passion pay off. It has become a place to enjoy, relax and feel good – a real asset for the district.
