The Main Tower in Frankfurt is a must-see for every visitor to the city. At 200 meters high, it offers an incomparable view of the skyline and the surrounding area. The modern design of the building and its central location make it a highlight for tourists and locals alike.
My visit to the Maintower
The imposing tower could be seen from afar. A small queue had formed in front of the entrance, but thanks to the efficient organization, things moved quickly. After a short security check, similar to that at the airport, I was already in the elevator. It took just 45 seconds to get up to the 54th floor. The speed was impressive, but no problem thanks to the smooth ride. From there, I had to climb a few more steps to the viewing platform, but it was worth the effort.
The view was simply breathtaking! I could see the whole city, the skyscrapers, the Main River, the airport and even the Taunus Mountains in good weather. There were also information boards on which the most important buildings and sights were marked. So I was able to find my way around and discover everything.
Activities and facilities
In addition to the viewing platform, there are other attractions in the Maintower. There is a Michelin-starred restaurant on the 53rd floor, which is known for its exquisite cuisine. There are special offers and events for families with children. Exhibitions and events are also held regularly in the Maintower.
The toilets in the Maintower were clean and modern. There was also a disabled toilet. There was a small kiosk on the viewing platform where you could buy drinks and snacks. The prices were a little higher than usual, but that’s not unusual for sights like this.
Accessibility and arrival
The Main Tower is largely barrier-free. There are elevators and ramps that allow access for wheelchair users. However, there are a few steps in front of the elevator to the viewing platform, which can be an obstacle.
Getting to the Maintower is easy. It is located in the city center and is easily accessible by public transport. There are also parking facilities nearby, although these are somewhat more expensive.
Conclusion
The Maintower is an absolute highlight in Frankfurt. The view is breathtaking, the building is modern and the location is central. The admission price of 9 euros for adults is reasonable. I can recommend a visit to anyone visiting Frankfurt. It’s especially nice to visit the Maintower in the evening when the city lights come on.
