On April 30, 2025, Frankfurt celebrated the opening of an extraordinary restaurant – Greta Oto at the JW Marriott Hotel. The new restaurant promises to take the city’s culinary scene to a new level with its innovative cuisine and ambience. I had the opportunity to attend the glamorous opening and would like to share my impressions with you.
A name that arouses curiosity
The name Greta Oto is inspired by a butterfly, whose transparent wings symbolize elegance and lightness. These characteristics are reflected in the restaurant’s overall concept: a harmonious combination of exquisite design, high-quality ingredients and a menu that promises a journey through Latin American cuisine.

An evening full of surprises
The stylish bar on the first floor, directly in front of the lobby, attracts everyone’s attention. With its extensive selection of spirits and a sophisticated lighting design that perfectly showcases the fine bottles, it invites you to enjoy a drink before heading up to the restaurant floor on the second floor.
The golden staircase leading up to the restaurant is not only an architectural highlight, but also a symbolic transition into a world of culinary delights. Once upstairs, guests are greeted by an ambience that combines elegance and relaxation, perfect for an unforgettable dinner or social evening with friends.
Another highlight of the evening was the live tasting of various Latin American dishes. The chef presented freshly prepared variations of Peruvian classics in front of the guests, including the house specialty: Ceviche Greta Oto, a combination of fresh fish, lime and a sophisticated leche de tigre marinade.

A look at the menu
Greta Oto’s menu is a culinary dream for fans of Latin American cuisine. From traditional dishes with a modern twist to unusual creations, there is something for every taste. Particularly worth mentioning are:
- “In Guacamole We Trust” – a guacamole dip made fresh at the table and served with homemade chips.
- Holy Rib – Slow-cooked beef ribs, accompanied by a spicy salsa roja and a fresh mango-papaya slaw.
- Grilled Cod– Grilled cod with aji amarillo and papaya slaw
The drinks menu also impresses with creative cocktails and an exquisite selection of wines and spirits. We were particularly taken with the Classic Pisco Sour – a perfect start to the evening.

The ambience: Modern and inviting
The Greta Oto is not only impressive in culinary terms, but also visually. The light-flooded restaurant combines warm wooden elements with modern design elements that give the room a relaxed yet luxurious atmosphere. The open kitchen allows guests to look over the chefs’ shoulders as they prepare the dishes – an experience that strengthens the connection between guest and kitchen.
Conclusion
With its opening, Greta Oto has undoubtedly set a new standard for upscale gastronomy in Frankfurt. It is a place where cuisine, ambience and service harmonize perfectly. Whether for a special dinner, a cocktail evening at the impressive bar or a business meeting – the Greta Oto is an enrichment for the city.
If you fancy Latin American cuisine at the highest level, you should not miss this restaurant. It’s worth a visit – and not just for foodies, but for anyone who values quality and enjoyment.
