Pallina Gelato: My new favorite ice cream store in Frankfurt

I recently discovered Pallina Gelato at Fahrgasse 7 in Frankfurt’s Old Town and am absolutely delighted with this small family business. The gelato here is simply incomparably delicious and is made by hand with a lot of passion and selected ingredients.

Large selection of creative ice cream flavors

What I particularly like is the variety of unusual ice cream flavors. In addition to classics such as vanilla and chocolate, there are also flavors such as pecan pie, pistachio and caramel. Many of the flavors are even vegan, lactose-free or gluten-free.

My personal favorite is the dark chocolate – I have rarely eaten an ice cream so intensely chocolatey! But the sorbets made with a high proportion of fresh fruit are also incredibly refreshing and aromatic.

Great sundae creations

Pallina Gelato is also known for its creative sundae variations:

  • The “compost sundae” with chocolate, vanilla and pecan pie ice cream, finished with cream, caramel sauce, cookies, chocolate drops and salted pretzels
  • The “Pallinuts cup” for nut lovers with walnut, pistachio and hazelnut ice cream, cream, pistachio sauce, caramelized walnuts and amarettini
  • The “Honeycomb cup” with banana, caramel and espresso ice cream, cream, banana, chocolate sauce, honeycomb crunch, chocolate drops and oat crunch in a waffle cup
  • And of course a classic spaghetti ice cream with vanilla ice cream, cream, strawberry sauce, strawberries and white chocolate

The sundaes not only look fantastic, they also taste irresistibly good. I couldn’t help but try several at once.

Sustainable and environmentally conscious

Another plus point is that Pallina Gelato attaches great importance to sustainability. Recyclable and compostable materials are used. If you bring your own ice cream box or a reusable cup, you even get an extra scoop of ice cream. This makes environmentally conscious eating twice as much fun.

My conclusion

I am absolutely thrilled with Pallina Gelato and can highly recommend this ice cream store. Whether for a single scoop between meals or a sumptuous sundae – every ice cream lover will be happy here. The gelato is of outstanding quality and the atmosphere is informal and friendly.

I will definitely become a regular customer and am already looking forward to many more visits. Thumbs up for this wonderful ice cream experience in the middle of Frankfurt!
